Nearly blind refugee abandoned by US border patrol found dead in Buffalo Investigation under way after man was dropped off five miles from home but family wasn’t notified, officials say

Nurul Amin Shah Alam, a blind Rohingya refugee from Myanmar, was found dead in Buffalo, NY, after Border Patrol agents reportedly abandoned him without shoes miles away from his home.

In addition to his disability, Nurul did not speak English. His family wasn’t even notified about his release. ⬇️🧵

💡Observing others’ reactions. What are other viewers saying in the comments?

📣Closing out #NewsLiteracy Week, we want to note that disinformation, including AI-generated content, affects #AAPI communities who get their news in many different languages & across many social media platforms. YOU have the power to stop misinformation by looking at the FACTS!
