It can be so hard. I go back-and-forth thinking if I’m going to quit my job and leave it despite the financial destitution and the heartbreak of leaving education because I am so sick of this rinse and repeat cycle of getting sick and recovering. I hope we both find a way forward ❤️❤️‍🩹

A “temper tantrum” after a flareup is so tempting (I have Crohn’s disease by the way I try not to let it define me though…) Might be better than staying in bed for 16 hours straight pretending I’m existing in the void… thoughts?

With Crohn’s disease and MAST cell activation syndrome I can sympathize with this. Depression is always at the threshold as life can feel like a ceaseless pattern of
pushing through and recovery. I try to pretend it doesn’t exist, so this post is really brave. Thank you for sharing.

Oh yeah. ADHD is both my hindrance and my super power. I’m also a gamer escape artist so avoiding the easy path to focus can be difficult. I found that combining the two with doubling is helping though. Just started using this and it helps a lot.

Love this. I view toxic positivity as cult behavior. When rational thought is forced out in favor of dopamine hits from inclusion and conflict avoidance. Your soul withers and your individuality fades as a result, all while putting power into a, usually, sociopathic persons hands. Pure evil.

To add to this, my grandmother, Peggy Rowe, was not published until 80 years old. She had been writing for 60 years. She now has three New York Times best sellers. Never stop writing.

I want to join… 😬 I just have to decide which WIP I’m going to work on. That’s the hard part. 🫠

I have used several, but this one I really like to get started with. Last time I used it it was completely free. I use it on my iPad, but I’m sure there’s something similar to use on a desktop. It will have a few example stories planned out that you can use as a template.

There are a lot of decent apps out there to get started on plot development, character, development, etc. that will help you organize your thoughts like you’re used to 😊 you can also dictate to word these days so you could just yell at your computer a whole bunch and see what comes out 😂

Its tough. It’s all mental really. It’s about inhibitions and insecurities and telling them to F off so your imagination can take over. Once you figure out how to quiet them you won’t need any help at all. But I’d start with whiskey and a tabletop game with friends. 🫠😂🎲

As an art teacher myself I agree with this statement. It’s also about mindset. You tell a room of Kinders that they are going to paint the Mona Lisa they will cheer with delight. You tell fifth graders the same… and they cry. At some point we stop believing in ourselves to achieve the “impossible”.
