I went to small stage at the new Guthrie, maybe 200 seats. Seems like they could easily fill those seats with shows of improv or special appearances of local performers, small overhead, sell drinks. New place is too high falutin I guess

That's something different with the old one. They'd have music concerts and even standup comics. I wonder what factors led to changing that

Going to the Guthrie has me thinking of the old Guthrie. What did you see there? A cool English teacher brought us up on 2 field trips from way down in southern MN. Last thing I saw there was Romeo & Juliet. Good seats so Juliet's brother mourned her death 10ft from me with tears & drool, yikes

I sat in the very back row and hardly noticed once it began. Not many bad seats at the Wurtle Thrust Stage. Bonus was there's no crowd on exiting. I was the 8th one out of the theater.

Saw Macbeth at Guthrie today. Sparse scenery, not my favorite, but production & direction so good it's still stunning. Look similar to 1996 Hamlet movie, might be 16th century but out of time so maybe 19th. Acting excellent. MacBeth & Lady MacBeth actors very good.
