This is crazy. The government β or fear of the government β is editing a CBS comedy show. Via @brianstelter.bsky.social
"Yesterday, Stephen Colbert taped a 'Late Show' interview with James Talarico, a candidate in the Democratic Senate primary in Texas, but then CBS lawyers intervened."

On a scale of 0-10, 0 being JD Vance and 10 being AOC, where does this guy sit, and how far down should we go before just giving up on a particular voter?

I saw Jesse Jackson at a campaign stop in '88. Small room, maybe 50 people. Absolutely amazing speaker. Down to earth. Talked about normal people problems. Acknowleged systemic issues by explaining how they affected his lifelong friends.
Rest in peace.

In 1865, the increasingly outspoken Semmelweis allegedly suffered a nervous breakdown and was committed to an asylum by his colleagues. In the asylum, he was beaten by the guards. He died 14 days later from a gangrenous wound on his right hand that may have been caused by the beating.[4]β from wiki.

Like, USAID still legally exists, still receives budget from Congress, and the few dozen remaining employees (who work at State) still have usaid.gov emails and all our systems and databases still exist.
It's just the 10k of us who actually did the work are gone. Just do that to ICE and CBP.

Rev. Jesse Jackson's "I *am* somebody..." remains one of the all-time great pieces of 20th century rhetoric / agitprop
And he could deliver it at a Black separatist meeting, the Democratic National Convention, or on god-blessed Sesame Street (see below π₯Ή)

I saw a political cartoon which depicted senate democrats looking at an issue polling at 55 or 56% support and their waiting until it hit 57% or some higher number before they supported it. But I can't find it. I think the creator was on here, but I could not find it in my reskeets. Anyone know??

Jain, "popularists" and those that listen to them will always be following trends, never leading. It's the cartoon of the senate dems waiting for public opinion to hit 60% before they advocate for something.
