Let’s Play! Nurturing Essential Play and Gross Motor Skills in Children with Kevin Prior, Everyday OT Tuesday 3rd March at 6.30pm in Celbridge Library Designed and delivered by Kevin Prior, Senior Paediatric OT, this workshop explores the foundations of play, movement and gross motor development, and how these skills shape a child’s confidence, coordination and everyday independence. This session is ideal for parents, educators and caregivers who want to better understand how movement and play shape a child’s daily life. By attending, you’ll gain confidence in using practical strategies that nurture children’s motor skills, support their development and help them thrive through meaningful, joyful play. Athy Library were busy for Valentine's Day! Three classes from Scoil Mhichil joined the Athy Library team for a fun Valentine’s Day craft session. The students were wonderfully creative—designing colourful, unique Love Bugs with their own imaginative twists. A great morning full of art, smiles, and fluttery paper hearts! A big well done to all the wonderful children who took part in our Valentine’s Recycling Craft at Athy Library! Using recycled and repurposed materials, the young artists created truly imaginative, colourful, and heart‑themed masterpieces. It’s amazing to see how creativity and sustainability can come together — the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with love for both art and our planet. Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make the event such a fun, eco‑friendly success! Children visiting the library were invited to design their own colourful hearts — and they didn’t disappoint! From bright patterns to imaginative doodles, every creation was unique and full of personality. A big thank you to all our young artists for sharing their wonderful ideas with us.
