Play time is learning time! These year-old marmots are learning social skills they will need as adults to be part of a successful colony. Wrestling can be a pair bonding or a territorial activity. Sometime the difference is knowing how hard to bite.

Berried shrimp 🦐

The secret is to put a lid on every time the boys are home alone. Both of our tanks are only 5.5 gallons, so they're too small for most fish.

Shrimp and snails (and their many babies) are enough for us, and relatively low maintenance! 🦐

The Sea Monkeys make an appearance in the corner as well.

I can assure you that Fig was inside the green blanket behind me for at least one set of photos. He just completely burrows, especially with the heating pad plugged in!
