Actually that one was at least *somewhat* accurate in its use of tools, inasmuch as I think that *was* a real SGI file system UI. And then at another point in the movie they were watching something that was supposedly a live video feed but you could see the QuickTime Player timeline on screen…

As opposed to “This is a UNIX system! I know this!” Followed by use of an experimental SGI file system UI that might have made it into one commercial product very briefly… (Jurassic Park, 1993)

Great advice here for journalists and anyone else interested in keeping truth and democracy alive…

As I recall, one of the big things about that show was their insane attention to detail around nearly all of the technology, down to the level of the specific tools being used by characters for various types of hacking
