If you’re having drinks with 10 people and 1 is a Nazi, then you’re having drinks with 10 nazis. Guilt by association. Or as my mama said, “you’re known by the company you keep.”

Be aware of which political party wants the American people to vote and will protect our collective right to do so…and which political party wants to restrict that right so that they may remain in power indefinitely.

The difference could not be clearer than at the present moment.

Should’ve read the article before reposting - sounds like they hope if they make wealthy traveler$ angry, they’ll demand that complaints about HSA and ICE abuses and overreach will be dropped (for their own selfish convenience).

Wonder why? Just to slow things down? Pretty sure pre✅ folks (like people I know) already have all their citizenship papers loaded in.

I’d also like to point out that Louisiana is a model for other states only in how to throw a hedonistic, religion-adjacent party once a year. Health care? not so much.

We would welcome hospital ships from Europe.

There is a car broken down in front of my house at 11pm. I can tell it’s disabled because the driver opened the hood and the flashers are on. And you know what? I’m not going to call the police about a suspicious car on the street because I’m not an idiot.

Alternative facts.

It wasn’t god, it was public outrage and pressure. But I’ll bet they find a way to sneak around and sell it to them for more $$.

The constitution says elections are controlled by the state. The current Pres supposedly swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. Ergo, he cannot override the constitution. But when has he ever kept a promise, or told the truth (except that he wants to stay in power)?

That makes it apparent that the SAVE Act has nothing to do with voter accuracy and everything to do with controlling who is registered to vote. Noncitizens cannot vote in federal elections.

I had to use my birth certificate (ordered from Missouri) and passport to get my Real ID in Georgia (which has my married name matching my passport).

Neither my passport nor birth certificate show my address, which has to be verified to show I’m voting in the correct precinct/district.

Does that seem fair to you?

It's already ILLEGAL for non-citizens to vote. This voter suppression bill—the "Save America Act"—solves a non-existent problem while disenfranchising millions of actual citizens. It's a lie from start to finish.

One of our 6th grade teachers was considering teaching his students to use AI to summarize research for them, until I asked “isn’t the purpose of your lesson to teach kids to summarize information? With their own brains?” “Oh, right. Didn’t think of that.”

I just finished “Free Throws, Friendship, and other things we messed up” by Jenn Bishop - great YA story set in basketball crazy Cincinnati where my daughter just moved.

I love watching Olympic snow sports, especially snowboarding, big air, half pipe, and freestyle, and I’m convinced the announcers just make up random names for the jumps and spins.

You’re just curating the collection. It’s a librarian’s professional and ethical responsibility to provide accurate information.

In Atlanta, several post offices around town offered full service for applications, photos, submission, with fully staffed rooms & cubicles, even on evenings and weekends. Over the past few years they’ve quietly closed those post offices completely.

It’s annoying - both when it happens & when you wake up pissed from a dream. Neighborhood activists leave flyers in mine - not trash, it just contributes to the discussion.

I have an afterschool crochet club in the library. It’s challenging to teach crochet to children with limited fine motor skills.

A worthy endeavor. I might take on the same mission in my retirement.
