Good pow wow today. Was very moved to see this Navajo code talker honored. He’s one of the few left, but their sacrifice and resilience is never forgotten. 🫢🏼

Spent the day exploring Fort Bowie which is now managed by the NPS. Someone mentioned massive layoffs throughout the organization and the administration trying to erase history… which of course is in the news here and there but added to the sadness of this place linked to so much cruelty.

Lord help us be good stewards on this very good Mother Earth you’ve formed us from, and rekindle in us a connection to Her that we are increasingly losing. Allow us to see clearly our dependence on Her.

Not that I know of. Anglo-Catholics tend to disagree on certain things… I think there are some things that cancel AC membership though, but I may be a hard ass. I like β€œLiving the Magnificat: Affirming Catholicism in a Broken World” it’s about affirming catholicism from Anglicans & Catholic authors

So…. on top of thinking 5 is super important to informing Christology and Mariology, which is very loaded, but also that all of these things also inform Anglican social doctrine (or Catholic social teaching) which I think is also very important to the sacramental/communal nature baked into ACism.

4. (con’t) Lex orandi Lex credendi
5. The authority of tradition, early church fathers, and scripture (big stickler on this one, because many people say they believe 1-4 but not 5. I argue you can’t truly believe 1-4 without 5. It also informs our Christology & Mariology.

1. Sacraments - high sacramental theology (7 sacraments, real presence, incarnational in that physical matter transmits grace)
2. Apostolic - apostolic succession and historic episcopate
3. Catholic - Ecclecia Anglicana is a historic church not a Protestant sect
4 Our liturgy shapes our belief

You don’t have to pray it at all actually… Anglo-catholicism does have a high Mariology, including her perpetual virginity, dormition/assumption, and her sinlessness, but it does not require her intercession at all. πŸ˜‰ But Pius V didn’t write the prayer you think is β€œstained.”

I just want to say again: Anglocatholicism is NOT in vestments, music, or esthetics. It’s 100% in the theology. You can have a charismatic charism and have an Anglo-catholic ethos. You can also be a high dry American Missal substitutionary atonement with a fiddle back, ad orientem & Protestant. βš“οΈ

If non-Catholics would like to pray the Rosary, but feel uncomfortable with the 53 β€œHail Mary’s” just replace them with the Jesus Prayer β€œLord Jesus Christ, only Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” The rest of it is made up of mysteries in the life of Jesus that reveal Him to us as the Christ.🫢🏼

Sorrowful Mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary [black and white image of Our Lady of Guadalupe] In Memory of All Victims of DHS Agencies St. Mary's Episcopal Church 6501 N 39th Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85019

+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Opening Prayers are said
First Sorrowful Mystery: The Agony in the Garden
"He withdrew from them about a stone's throw, knelt down, and prayed, Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; still, not my will but yours be done? And to strengthen him, an angel from heaven appeared to him. He was in such agony and he prayed so fervently that his sweat became like drops of blood falling on the ground!" β€” Luke 22:41-44
Reflection:
Jesus enters the garden knowing suffering is coming. He feels fear, loneliness, and anguish so deep that He sweats blood.
We pray for all who live in constant fearβ€”those who go to sleep unsure if they will be taken from their families, those who feel hunted, unseen, or disposable. We remember Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and all who have suffered or died under systems that treat human lives as expendable.
Lord, you know the terror of waiting for harm to come. Stay with all who feel abandoned, and give us the courage not to turn away from their suffering.
Second Sorrowful Mystery: The Scourging at the Pillar
Scripture:
"Then Pilate took Jesus and had him scourged." β€” John 19:1
Reflection:
Jesus is bound and beaten. His body is wounded again and again, stripped of dignity.
We pray for all whose bodies and spirits have been harmed by violence, neglect, or crueltyβ€”especially those abused by institutions meant to protect life. We remember those injured, detained, or broken by harsh policies and indifference.

Christ, in your wounded body we see every person whose humanity has been denied.
Heal what has been torn, and soften the hearts of those who inflict harm.
Third Sorrowful Mystery: The Crowning with Thorns Scripture:
"The soldiers wove a crown out of thorns and placed it on his head, and clothed him in a purple cloak, and they came to him and said, 'Hail, King of the Jews!" And they struck him repeatedly." β€”John 19:2-3
Reflection:
Jesus is mocked, humiliated, and treated as less than human.
We pray for all who are ridiculed, dehumanized, or reduced to labelsβ€”called "illegal"
"criminal," or "other." We remember how words and power can wound as deeply as fists.
Lord Jesus, crowned with thorns, you stand with every person shamed or silenced.
Teach us to speak truth with compassion and to resist systems that profit from humiliation and fear.
Fourth Sorrowful Mystery: The Carrying of the Cross
Scripture:
"They pressed into service a passer-by, Simon, a Cyrenian, to help carry his cross."
γƒΌMark 15:21
Reflection:
Jesus stumbles under the weight of the cross, helped only briefly by a stranger.
We pray for those crushed by burdens they did not choose: families torn apart, children forced to grow up too fast, communities living under constant threat. We remember Renee, Alex, and all victims whose crosses were made heavier by injustice.
Christ, help us to be like Simon-to step in, to share the weight, to refuse to walk past suffering when we see it.

Fifth Sorrowful Mystery: The Crucifixion
Scripture:
"When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him... esus cried out in a loud voice, Father, into your hands I commend my spirit; and when he had said this he breathed his last." β€” Luke 23:33, 46
Reflection:
Jesus is killed by the violence of the state, abandoned, and mourned by those who loved Him.
We pray for all who have died because systems valued control over compassion and power over mercy. We entrust Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and all victims of injustice into the hands of our God of Love.
Jesus, unjustly executed, you know the suffering of innocent death. May your mercy receive the dead, comfort the grieving, and awaken us to the sacred dignity of every human life.
Hail Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy!
Hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thy eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
V. Pray for us O Holy Mother of God
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Communion
There's no bread.
The bakers have gone into hiding.
The seats at the table are empty.
The Twelve are out marching with the thousands.
The streets are filled with a new song.
Only Judas sits at Target Plaza, counting his silver, while Pontius Pilate issues a carefully-worded statement.
Meanwhile, the centurions have quotas to fill.
But out on the streets there's a Communion.
Jesus takes the city in his hands and says,
"This is my body, broken for you"

SAN ANTONIO DIVISION
WESTERN DISTRICT OF TEXAS
BY:

DEPUTY
ADRIAN CONEJO ARIAS, and
L.C.R., a Minor Child by and through His Parent and Guardian Adrian Conejo Arias,
Petitioners,
VS.
KRISTI NOEM, in Her Official Capacity as Secretary of the United States Department of Homeland Security; PAMELA BONDI, in Her Official Capacity as Attorney General of the United States; TODD LYONS, in His Official Capacity as Acting Director, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement;
DAREN MARGOLIN, in His Official Capacity as Acting Director of the Executive Office of Immigration Review; and JOHN DOE, in His Official Capacity as the Warden of the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in Dilley, Texas,
Respondents.

CIVIL CASE NO. SA-26-CV-415-FB
OPINION AND ORDER OF THE COURT

Before the Court is the petition of asylum seeker Adrian Conejo Arias and his five-year-old son
for protection of the Great Writ' of habeas corpus. They seek nothing more than some modicum of due
process and the rule of law. The government has responded.
The case has its genesis in the ill-conceived and incompetently-implemented government pursuit
of daily deportation quotas, apparently even if it requires traumatizing children. This Court and others regularly send undocumented people to prison and orders them deported but do so by proper legal procedures.

Apparent also is the government's ignorance of an American historical document called the
Declaration of Independence. Thirty-three-year-old Thomas Jefferson enumerated grievances against
a would-be authoritarian king over our nascent nation. Among others were:
1. "He has sent hither Swarms of Officers to harass our People."
2.
"He has excited domestic Insurrection among us."
3. "For quartering large Bodies of Armed Troops among us."
4. "He has kept among us, in Times of Peace, Standing Armies without the consent of our Legislatures."
"We the people" are hearing echos of that history.
And then there is that pesky inconvenience called the Fourth Amendment:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and persons or things to be seized.
U.S. ConsT. amend. IV.
Civics lesson to the government: Administrative warrants issued by the executive branch to
itself do not pass probable cause muster. That is called the fox guarding the henhouse. The
Constitution requires an independent judicial officer.
Accordingly, the Court finds that the Constitution of these United States trumps this administration's detention of petitioner Adrian Conejo Arias and his minor son, L.C.R. The Great Writ
and release from detention are GRANTED pursuant to the attached Judgment.
Observing human behavior confirms that for some among us, the perfidious lust for unbridled
power and the imposition of cruelty in its quest know no bounds and are bereft of human decency. And
the rule of law be damned.

Ultimately, Petitioners may, because of the arcane United States immigration system, return to
their home country, involuntarily or by self-deportation. But that result should occur through a more
orderly and humane policy than currently in place.
