I found a street in Pittsburgh where it appears that the Google StreetView car drove through some low hanging branches and got took some leaves for a ride

Painting in progress … I use acrylics because I can get lovely colors and layer them quickly. Some people have trouble with how fast acrylics dry but I like it.

Some images from my solo exhibition at the Anchorage Museum. Year With A Tree was 70+ plein air paintings of a single cottonwood tree. I painted on location every other day for a year, during all types of Alaskan weather, documenting the changing of the seasons. #pleinair #painting #art #landscape

Recent paintings

There's a way to interpret this as me making smaller paintings for urbanists to more easily decorate their apartments 😂

But since my work is also about houses and cars I also wonder if there is another reason to make small scale paintings: a reaction against needlessly sprawling McMansion style housing, and a movement in favor of living in smaller and more efficient spaces

Partly this is practical: I don't have a car and the largest panel I can fit inside my bike bag is 14x18 inches. In art school they said never make a painting bigger than your minivan, I'm adapting that to the bike only lifestyle
