That's one of the things that the GURPS supplements absolutely excel at: being a resource. Especially their historical and other settings books. Just phenomenal sources of information and inspiration.

May I recommend cutting whole scenes and keeping them in a separate document to be turned into short stories later? That way cool scenes aren’t just set on fire. They’re kept for later use!
