This is a key event in Edinburgh focused on driving progress in brain tumour / cancer treatment β both here in Scotland and across the UK.
This is more than a discussion; itβs an opportunity for Scotland to lead the way in improving outcomes and supporting vital research.

United Nations report recognises LGBT Inclusive Education in Scotland - Time for Inclusive Education
A report from the United Nations Independent Expert, Graeme Reid, has recognised Scotland's approach to LGBT Inclusive Education.
βAt a time when calls for ideological anti-LGBT censorship in schools are growing across the world, we must protect and strengthen our approach here in Scotland.β
π° United Nations Independent Expert emphasises that safe and inclusive schools are a prerequisite for realising the right to education.

One of the most effective ways to reduce record high alcohol deaths would be to reintroduce the 'alcohol duty escalator' that Alistair Darling brought in, as @drscottarthurmp.bsky.social refers to in this debate about wine duty.

Plans for Edinburgh private hire cars to be allowed to use bus lanes
Council officers are recommending that councillors delay making any decision on a policy change until after several projects and traffic studies are completed
Iβve been consistent in my opposition to allowing PHVs into bus lanes. I do however think it is worth exploring allowing PHVs and Black Cabs access through certain bus gates if the data and evidence proves it can aid city mobility.

This week, I spent time with the Chair of Radiotherapy UK, Prof Pat Price, to talk about a crisis that canβt be ignored: cancer waiting times in Scotland are at their worst on record. Patients deserve better. The SNP must step up & publish a fully funded cancer plan. Every delay costs lives.
