A new landscape painting to finish the year, this one is a scene from the top of a set of steps that lead down to a beach and in the distance is Ravenscraig Castle which is in Kirkcaldy, Fife. Image size is 18cm by 8cm but it is on a piece of paper approx 30cm by 20cm. The cost is £60 plus postage.

I want the Kathy Griffin ornament.

That's me all set up for today's Byres Road Market in Hillhead Library. It's on between 11am and 4pm, and I've got my usual Glasgow-themed books, Christmas cards, calendars, prints and the last of my tenement tile coasters.

We live in a country where restaurants trash thousands of pounds of perfectly good food every day while huge swathes of people live in food deserts and I'm supposed to get upset if someone gets a parking spot they aren't entitled to for 20 minutes? I don't have few enough problems to care about it

Karma will come for JK Rowling. In the meantime, I hope she enjoys the spray of spittle on all her restaurant meals.

It's not a badge of honor when books get banned. It stinks for everyone. For the book creators, who worked hard to create something special that now won't be shared. The kids who miss out. The librarians and teachers who are treated like criminals. And taxpayers who have to pay for this nonsense.

Once I heard how disparaging Goodreads reviews could be, and the impact they could have, I started giving all the books I read 5* because it costs me nothing.

Trump Administration Will No Longer Commemorate World AIDS Day

Since 1988, every year on December 1, communities have joined together to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and to honor the lives affected by the epidemic.

This week, the current regime announced the United States will not commemorate World AIDS Day.
