I just wanted to say—if you have a favorite US based artist this is likely the time to start and keep supporting them

A few creative friends have mine have voiced possibly needing to change jobs under this new administration out of concern and fear, so show artists that you love their work now

trump supporters have always wanted their bigotry to be socially acceptable. To be able to hang out with and enjoy the creative output of queers, trans folks, punks, furries, minorities etc without having to treat them like human beings.

Denying them that is the most powerful tool you have.

For science communicators & other content creators creating YouTube shorts, I want to share something I learned: You can set the thumbnail of a short. To do this, you must do it via YouTube on your phone but NOT the YT Studio app! Go "manage videos" > "shorts" > the three dots and edit > pencil icon

If it makes you feel any better my 8yr olds are learning “digital citizenship” in second grade, and they’ve told me one of the first questions is to ask whether something you see online is true or not.

Look for the people who have been concretely planning for how to respond, and are ready to implement.
