Subconscious Pandemonium, by Slaughterday from the album Dread Emperor

This is tasty. Stays in its lane, but hits all the right OSDM buttons without feeling derivative or outstaying its welcome.

That and having it in fucking Notepad. Oh, and constantly spamming me with half-arsed design suggestions in PowerPoint, then only allowing "stop suggestions until I next open PowerPoint", rather than "fuck off and leave me alone unless I ask". That's not productivity, it's stalking.

Because only a company that was confident in the utility of their tech would resort to egregious bollocks like this. Sorry, but it's a consent violation at that point...

Possibly just naked opportunism from the Tories, but being able to attack the PM whilst also highlighting how little Reform are pushing makes a lot of political sense. Be interesting to see if they start pressing Farage more on this. Badenoch must surely also be wanting to give Jenrick a kicking.

Curious isn't it.

Actually have to credit the Tories on this, as whatever you think of them, they're right to press Starmer on this. Labour were doing much the same when it was Johnson at Lebedev's mansion, and this feels far more serious than that.

Interesting point made by a few journalists re Mandelson. This is a Profumo scale issue that could bring down the PM, and yet barely a peep out of Reform over this or any Epstein conent. Rupert Lowe even thanked Musk for "X revealing a lot of this information" in Parliament. Sure innocent reasons.

The coal drop-off really is something else. Be interesting to find air quality and health data for the same period. That and the move from Russian gas goes to show what can be done when the demand and political will is there. Think Ed Miliband deserves a lot of credit in that respect.

Dave Lister as originally written is the absolute antithesis of the American Dream. He's a drop out and slob by choice and happy with it (Inquisitor - "So?" response). That could never fly in the US, so they tried to make his character more heroic, which basically undermined the entire premise.

Practically a term of endearment down under. Also, disappointing that yellow isn't defined as "careful now".

The long term aim remains full time in nappies, but getting there gradually seems much better than going all in from the outset and then getting in mental knots and feeling like I've failed if I don't wear.

So that's now a full calendar month out of boxers. Five weeks if you include tail end of Dec. Been nappies, pullups or training pants only in that time. Having pullups and training pants as fallbacks has been really helpful, as stops mental spiral when not in the mood to wear fully.

Little victory, but as someone raised through tape trading, fanzines and the joy of discovery of new music, it really irked me that a label was flooding the underground with slop, and also that they were trying to hide it with fake bios. That's probably the most offensive aspect.

Bandcamp recently changed their terms to explicitly prohibit AI. I'd previously flagged a metal label with obvious AI content, but wasn't against terms at the time. Reported again after their term change, and they've confirm label is in violation and has been removed.

Not felt like it's rained overly heavily here, but Nene was looking pretty moody last time I saw it, and the Ouse at Wolverton was overtopped and into its floodplain (not hugely unusual, but still), so clearly a lot of water in the overall catchment. Plant more trees! Pave fewer driveways!

The joys of buying more feminine clothing online - XL doesn't fit, so buy apparently the same thing in XXL, only to find it's smaller. What?

I'll happily admit neither FOF nor TMWRNJ have aged well at all, and with hindsight do feel like poor Reeves and Mortimer knock-offs, but still a treat watching (the actor) Kevin Eldon as jelly obsessed Rod Hull. 90s TV was weird.

The only threat this man posed was to the tragically fragile egos of those who shot him. They just can't cope with being challenged and have to lash out. It would be sad were it not so dangerous. 2A folks ought to be on the street over this, but hey, it's their team doing to the tyranny, so meh.

Even Starmer seems to have belatedly grown a spine. I think Carney's speech in Davos may have focused a few European minds.

Rising Light of Lunacy, by Heretical Sect from the album Rapturous Flesh Consumed

Tonight's listening. Has the swirling menace of Icelandic BM, but with a death / doom weight underpinning it. Really rather good. Spotted via the equally striking artwork.
