We teach what we teach. The end. The first amendment exist or it doesn’t. We are in the business of education or we aren’t. There’s no middle ground.

Episode 95: Low-Rise Multifamily with Tobias Peter - UCLA Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies Seattle has built more than 20,000 townhomes over the past 30 years. We discuss their impacts on affordability, homeownership, and more.

In the latest episode of UCLA Housing Voice, we talk to Tobias Peter about his case study on Seattle's low-rise multifamily zones, which have produced over 20,000 townhomes since 1994. Some key findings in the thread below. www.lewis.ucla.edu/2025/07/30/9...

The next Washington city to fully eliminate parking mandates looks like it will be Shoreline, with the Shoreline council set to discuss the move next Monday and then take action the following week.

I believe that more of our elected leaders need to act morally and with integrity.

There are many good people, especially in local government, who roll up their sleeves and help their communities.

Trump’s illegal order to end birthright citizenship has been BLOCKED AGAIN.

It is unconstitutional, period, and we will keep fighting it for as long as we have to.

Disabled Americans Fear What Medicaid Cuts Could Do to Them

Popping in briefly from vacation to share my latest: Here's how the ~$1 trillion in Medicaid cuts in Republicans' newly passed law could threaten the home- and community-based care that many Americans with disabilities rely on.

The irony of single-stair-friendly codes is that they lead to more stairs than two-stair codes. An IBC-compliant building could easily have twice as many units as in this picture on a floor with only two stairs, not three.

This is horrifying and yet another reminder of why we can't abandon fossil fuels quickly enough.

The Elwha River is a triumph of restoration, with salmon returning after over a century's absence since major dam removals 12 years ago. The spill is on a tributary 1.5 miles from the river's main stem.

Devastating New Poll Shows Almost Everyone Is Unhappy Under Trump Donald Trump has gotten a brutal performance review.

Within the first 7 months, Trump has managed to add trillions to the deficit, eviscerate agencies, rattle the economy, shake our strongest alliances, build concentration camps for his deportation program, and strip popular social programs like Medicaid from millions.
