Regan and dad from years gone by
Exactly 20 years ago today, we welcomed into the world the little girl who changed my life. She has been such an impressive, incredible person ever since. While I’m excited for what the future holds for her, I have to admit that part of me misses the little kid she once was. So proud of my SP. ✨👸🏻

Solo game of Tokaido, which I won 72-71-63
It’s been WAY too long since I got a solo game to the table. Tonight I was thrilled to play @stonemaiergames.com edition of Tokaido. Beautiful and compelling as always, and the new Automa plays great too.

Scotland Day 5 – Part 4
Finally, before heading back to Aberdeen, I had dinner and a pint at Brewhemia near the train station. Fun place! So fun, that Ian and Jo asked to sit down with me, and we had a wonderful chat over beers (when I could understand Ian through his Scottish accent 🤣).

Scotland Day 5 – Part 3
Took a walk up to Calton Hill. This beautiful urban park has some amazing views, and it probably even more idyllic on a bright summer day.

Scotland Day 5 – Part 2
Also got to marvel at St. Giles Cathedral where a string rehearsal was going on. They filled the sanctuary brilliantly.

Today was definitely my favorite day of the trip, so much that this will require multiple posts. The weather was bad (cold, VERY WINDY, and rainy), but I came prepared. After taking the train to Edinburgh, I headed straight to the incredible Edinburgh Castle.

Me before my presentation about therapy rehearsal in therapy education. (The iridescent effect was a weird camera trick.)
Using a hair dryer to reheat a burger and fries in my hotel room
Scotland Day 4
Not much to report. I attended some interesting IFTA conference sessions, & I presented one of my own. I never left the hotel & conference center, so after drinks at the bar, I did the “cheap dad” thing & used the hotel hair dryer to reheat my leftovers from last night. It was great.

Scotland Day 3
The IFTA Congress began today, and at lunch we were entertained by piper and Highland dancers from Robert Gordon College. After sessions, I took a walk across the moors to a convenience store to grab snacks for #Astros #OpeningDay!

Day 2 in Scotland!
This day started out as a bummer, as the departure point for my paid tour was changed to St. Andrews, and I didn't get the message, so I set out to see some Aberdeen sites I missed yesterday. Footdee & the North Sea, University of Aberdeen campus, and some great Scottish food.

It was nice to have a date night to Willow Creek Winery last night. We’re still trying to figure out our new local haunts, but it’s fun trying to figure it out.
