Draco turned to Hermione, flushed and flustered.
“I— Hermione, I’m—”

She cut him off by shoving him gently back against the wall and crashing her lips into his.

He blinked in surprise before melting into it, a disbelieving laugh slipping out against her mouth.

Hermione and Draco stood there like thoroughly chastised children.

“Y—yeah, sorry, we’ll just— we’ll go— wait, no, we—”

“Off you go, darlings. Shoo. And don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”

She physically waved them out of the room.

The door shut behind them.

Pansy pinched the bridge of her nose.

“Morning, Granger. No, you didn’t do anything with Draco last night. But I would strongly advise you both to communicate and snog each other already, because Potter and I would quite like to stop playing matchmakers and actually sleep.”

“If I were you, I’d go back to your room, get into bed, and get it into your very pretty head that the feelings might be mu—”

The door slammed open again.

A wild-eyed Hermione rushed in.

“OH HARRY! Knew I’d find you here—I fucked up! I— oh. Hi, Malfoy.” She went scarlet.

“…Then why was I half naked? And she too?”

“Strip poker,” Potter supplied.

“I never lose at that game,” Draco said indignantly.

“You were too busy ogling Hermione,” Pansy said sweetly, “and she was very much returning the favour.”

Potter made a face behind her shoulder.

“No, stop,” Pansy said, waving him back. “Relax. You didn’t rush anything. You and Granger were so drunk you started playing hide and seek. You decided the best hiding spot was under your duvet. Together. Because you were both acting like five-year-olds. And then you fell asleep. That’s it.”

“I knew you were waiting for my downfall, Potter. But you, Pans?” Draco scoffed, wounded. “I am disappointed.”

He turned to leave, clearly in search of more competent help.

“I— How did she end up in my bed?” Draco dragged a hand through his hair. “Oh, Salazar, this is my nightmare. I was supposed to court her, to— I don’t know—not pull her into my bed drunk on a random Friday night!?”

Pansy and Potter exchanged a look.

And burst out laughing.

“Care to explain why you’re disrupting my beauty sleep, Draco?” Pansy asked coolly.

“Granger is in my bed.”

“…And where is that a problem?” she said flatly.

“HERMIONE WHAT?” Potter yelped, shooting upright before being stopped by Pansy’s raised hand.

“Merlin, Draco, get out!” Pansy snapped, then immediately sat up, eyes narrowing with concern. “Draco, what did you do?”

Potter reached for his wand and cast a quick charm over Pansy’s chest as the two Slytherins spoke in perfect unison:

“Nothing he—”
“—hasn’t seen before, Potter.”

“Fuck, Pans, I—”

He paused when he noticed the unmistakable presence of Potter in the bed, but honestly his dread was stronger than his embarrassment.

“I fucked up, Pans. Morning, Potter.”

He might have been in the middle of a breakdown, but he still had manners.
