Eight painted orc miniatures from the board game HeroQuest. The figures have green skin and wear rusted metallic armor with shoulder plates and boots. Each orc stands on a round base textured like cracked stone. They carry a variety of weapons, including axes, swords, and a spiked maces, and are posed in dynamic, aggressive stances as if charging into battle.
Since my 4yo is enjoying #HeroQuest a lot*, we started painting the minis in the box together. Here's the orcs. All painted with AP markers (which were great to bring my daughter back to the painting table) plus washes and rust.

3/3 they retained the stuff we read from their kitten sheet (using spells&items in the correct situation), and sat on my legs through the scary part (saving the parents of a rabbit). long story short: amazingly heart-warming and kudos to the people behind Donjons & Chatons/Dungeons & Kittens

2/3 as I was setting up the two girls checked the materials and picked the premade characters they liked. So we invited them at the table, telling them they could leave and come back as they liked. They stayed through the whole 2.5 hours (with a 30min snacks break) and just... played with us

Struggling with MS-DOS was worth it to play the campaign. Missions and maps were very repetitive but being able to choose your mech type and loadout, plus picking the missions, made it quite enjoyable to a very young me.

I have stopped playing this year after tournaments in jan-feb. My local scene is dead, tournament circuit is doing fine. What drove me away was the perception of rising "bad time-costs" (keeping up with updates, a whole new scoring system after Y1) vs diminishing returns (game feels very formulaic)

4 papercraft bookcases at 28mm scale
a dungeon battlemat for 28mm scale tabletop roleplay. Several floating pieces of floor are placed on the battlemap, supported by clear acrylic stands
several tiny books (2cmx1cm) made out of paper and foam core. the books can be opened and have clues on the inside pertaining to a TTRPG adventure set in a library
Because it's a shitty period and doing stuff with my hands helps to relax (a bit), I might have gone a tad overboard with the props for the next #TTRPG session (taking place in the wing of a great library, stuck in a magical time bubble) 😅

A battle scene in a TTRPG. The group of 5 adventurers are racing off a band of goblins and two giant spiders in a large cave. The cave is divided by an abyss which can only be traversed via a narrow stone bridge
Session 2 of our #TTRPG Campaign ("Valour and Profit") happened last night. The party investigated the village (getting sidetracked multiple times) then tracked the goblins, saved the kids... and somehow ended up with a shard of a forgotten god lodged close to their hearts... 😬❤️
