🎆🎆 Fireworks. Love them, or loathe them, we all know that this time of year is full of them. And for many, pet owners or not, this time of year can also bring anxieties around fireworks with it.
I spoke about this in the Chamber today with the Leader of the House.🎆🎆
On World Children’s Day, I am reiterating my support for the Bring Kids Back UA initiative - a call to rebuild young lives shattered by war.
Every child deserves a home, a future, and a chance to heal.

💧🌊 So pleased that the Labour Government are banning plastic wet wipes, which are contributing to a huge amount of pollution and habitat damage, as well as poisoning wildlife and littering beaches.
Remember, if you're using wipes, you've got to #binittowinit every time! 🌊💧
There is more to be done, and the launch of the Men's Health Strategy today by Wes Streeting is a welcome step in facing the specific health challenges of men and boys.

Today marks #InternationalMensDay 2025, with the theme this year being Celebrating Men and Boys.
It's an important day, especially as the work International Men's Day does highlights the importance of positive role models and raises awareness of men’s wellbeing.
Thanks to the work we've done advocating on behalf of Southend and the health needs of our constituents, this new facility and investment will free-up capacity and drive down wait times.
I can't wait to see it up and running - starting early 2026!
🏥 Coming Soon - Southend's newest Community Diagnostic Centre! 🏥
Last week, alongside Bayo Alaba and local NHS leaders, I visited the soon-to-be state-of- the-art health centre in the Victoria Shopping Centre which will deliver more than 30,000 extra diagnostic appointments!

This weekend, the team and I were out and about in St. Laurence chatting to residents about what concerns them. It was great to be joined by the ward councillor Cllr Lydia Hyde too!

🎄Christmas season got off to a flying start today with Eastwood Community Centre Southend Christmas Fair.
It was wonderful to meet so many local crafty people and see their delightful wares on sale.
I bought a nice piece of art from Painting by May!
Yesterday I held my first ever drop in surgery in Tesco Extra Southend. I even got to make an announcement that I was there on the tannoy! 📣

I invited the brilliant Andy Pond from Formara to join me at No11 Downing Street for an SME Reception!
Andy and I met with the Chancellor Rachel Reeves to chat about the success of this local business - including how Andy went from the bottom rung to MD across his 36 years of service!
For Armistice Day, I was honoured to be able to take part in local services at Southend High School for Boys and St Clements, as well as display a wreath at my office, to demonstrate the community's solemn remembrance of the sacrifices of those who have served, and serve today.

🏠🎖️ With Remembrance Weekend just gone and Armistice Day tomorrow, it's crucial we not only remember the sacrifices of those who did not make it home, but also those that did.
I'm proud that the Government is driving the biggest upgrade to military housing in over 50 years.🎖️🏠

One week in and BOB has started to appear, proving I can actually grow facial hair! Not sure how I’m feeling about it yet as it’s the first time I have grown a tash!

Absolutely amazing to see the Poppies on the Pier at Southend Pier - it's a poignant and fitting tribute to honour the sacrifices of all of those who gave their tomorrows so we could live freely today.
Please do visit the Pier and take a moment to reflect - with 110,471 poppies to admire.
