After spending time privately yesterday standing in solidarity with the Jewish community, today I attended the Southend Mosque open day.

This is the section of our 2024 Manifesto on which we were elected that refers to our actions on the water industry. I can guarantee you there was no commitment to nationalise the water industry. The cost to do so would be significant!

That was NEVER a manifesto commitment. It would cost billions to renationalise the water industry.

I’m not sure what you are referring too. Water is already privatised. We committed in our manifesto to sorting out pollution and the lack of investment and holding water company bosses personally responsible. All of which we are doing already through the Water Special Measures Bill and other actions

💦 Heidi filled me with confidence that our water supply facilities in Southend are in a good place for now and taking into consideration future population growth.

I am incredibly disappointed to share this important update below.

Alongside Cllr Daniel Cowan, we will make sure this project is back on track as a matter or urgency!

While visiting 'Welcome to the UK' this week I reflected on immigration in this country and the huge contribution immigrants have made here over the years.

It was fantastic to meet the team down at Southend’s Welcome to the UK. It’s a charity founded here in 2014 to help families from overseas.

They offer a wide range of services including:

👩‍🎓Free English Classes
🙋‍♂️Friendship groups
💪Fitness and Arts activities

⚓️I opted for the Navy because of my family history, with my grandfather, great grandfather and great uncle all having been in that service.

⛴ The scheme provides MPs and Peers with first-hand experience of military life to help us make better-informed decisions over defence.

I have relished my first taste of the MP’s Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme (AFPS). It is a long-running initiative designed to give Members of Parliament and Peers a deeper understanding of the armed forces.

Yesterday I had the privilege to meet 2nd World War veteran Dougie as he became a Centenarian!

A special party was organised in his honour where he received over 16,600 cards sent by many people including The King and The Prime Minister.

They do great work raising funds for their centre to provide services to those in need!
