Really enjoyed attending the Special Needs Sports and Fun Day at King John School in Benfleet last weekend!
It was great to see so many having such a wonderful time!

The Online Safety Act's protections are the biggest step forward in child safety since the internet was created.
Whilst Reform want to scrap it, I'm on the side of parents and the safety of children.

Good to join The Mayor at Porters for the South Asian Heritage Flag Raising Ceremony alongside the local community and councillors.

It was a great opportunity to mark the crucial contribution the South Asian community has had and continues to have across our City.

Hospice to receive £783k in funding to improve end-of-life care in south Essex Havens hospices will use the funding to upgrade facilities and create more comfortable spaces for patients and families.

Bayo Alaba MP and I visited Havens last week to see their fantastic work in action and talk about the £783,000 investment they're getting for end-of-life care! ❤️🐧

In light of the steps announced by the Prime Minister and David Lammy yesterday, I wanted to share my thoughts below.

Great to be a part of the launch of the extended 17 and 17a bus service with Cllr Paul Collins!

Funded by the Department for Transport, this new service reconnects residents in West Leigh and around the Highlands Estate with the city centre!

Last week the Policing Minister Diana Johnson and I met with members of the Jewish and Muslim communities in Southend and Leigh and Essex Police to discuss efforts to protect religious communities.

I am proud of the community cohesion in our city and mutual respect we show for each other.

🇬🇧🚆 It's now been one week since c2c was nationalised as part of #GreatBritishRailways.

As I told BBC Look East last week, this will give commuters a better service, more consistent ticketing, and improvements across the board! 🚆🇬🇧

Out and about in #westborough today with Cllr Pam Kinsella and Cllr Kevin Robinson talking to residents.

I hear you on fly tipping and antisocial behaviour.

I am working with the police and the council to address this for you!

🎵Last night I had great fun at the Lazydays Festival in Priory Park! 🎧

🕺🏾The Festival is in it’s 2nd year and runs until Sunday. Well done to Mike and Elliot for pulling this off again.

🎤 Great to see classic Judge Jules perform too.

Whilst the Policing Minister was in Southend she spent time thanking the emergency services who responded to our two recent tragedies, the death of Leonna Ruka in Chalkwell Park and the plane crash at the Airport.

She also laid flowers at both locations on behalf of the Government.

🎷🎶 Enjoyed visiting The Jazz Centre on Victoria Avenue, meeting with Digby Fairweather and Kevin Buck, to see the brilliant displays and speak about the exciting future ahead!

🐟🍟 I just wanted to thank the fantastic staff at The Beach Hut for brilliant service and delicious food - the scampi and chips was great!

It was also a beautiful venue to speak with the Minister Diana Johnson and Bayo Alaba about the bright future ahead for Southend, Leigh, and Rochford. 🐟🍟

🚶🛍️ Great to speak to residents in St Luke's Ward for one of my Street Surgeries - as well as pop into some local businesses like Bizzy Lizzy Florist!

Throughout the summer, I'll be all across the constituency for street surgeries and visits, so do say hi if you see me!🚶🛍️

As MPs return to our constituencies for the Summer, it was my privilege to take part in my second Sir David Amess Summer Adjournment debate to honour his legacy and thank wonderful people in Southend West and Leigh.

I also spoke about my mission to getting our city a cathedral!

🚽💧 Some “flushable" wipes aren't actually flushable - a nightmare for our sewage systems.

I raised this with the Environment Secretary, Steve Reed, who has promised me that we will meet on this soon.

Watch this space! Together, we can wipe this issue away #BinItToWinIt 💧🚽

💧🚽 Around half a million wipes are flushed into our region's sewers EVERY DAY - but wipes don't break down and can take thousands of years to disappear.

I'm joining Anglian Water in their campaign to #JustBinIt to play our part in improving our waters. 💧🚽
