A bit different from how it used to look!

Some pictures of the newly expanded NICU in Nottingham. A long-awaited development which will improve outcomes for babies. More space for families and staff, improved parent spaces, teaching space with fully equipped SIM space, bereavement suite. Looking forward to moving in later this week.

Systemic Postnatal Corticosteroids, Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, and Survival Free of Cerebral Palsy This comparative effectiveness research assesses differences in the association of systemic postnatal corticosteroids with survival free of cerebral palsy by risk of bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

In infants born preterm, dexamethasone is associated with improved survival free of cerebral palsy when the risk of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) exceeds 70%.

As with any medication, it always comes down to risks versus benefits
