I may, or maynot, care about folks who voted for Trump with regrets now. *However* I care deeply about the many people, whether vulnerable pops or not, who voted Harris and are suffering (particularly in my majority D area). To quote Denzel in Magnificent 7 '16 these folks deserve their lives back

There's this fucked up common belief among Republicans that there's masses of Americans sitting at home not working, and that's what caused inflation. This is like "died of a theory" for a countries economy, and possibly the world depending on how mich damage Trump does

Putin set out with Trump to destroy the Western alliance... he's all but succeeded on that front.

Bigger problem is that, until the last week, Bluesky's engagement metrics (Daily Likers, Daily Posters, and Followers) had been on a steep decline for like 6+ months. It finally turned around a month ago (when we finally started getting some EU exposure) but time will tell if it continues

Also, for what it's worth, Rose came from a time and state (Minnesota) where people in those types of regions tended to be more stubbornly Dem than other places (it was only with the younger generations that this really changed). I always saw Rose as similar to my GrPar (who were similar)

No question, just turned out to be easier to bankrupt casinos than we all thought...which is more problematic if the country turns into a casino...

Actually, it's now happened more than once - generally the trick is to have gambling and other revenue drop below debt service level (see Caesars, which is now El Dorado due to bankruptcy)

Consultant class, establishment, neo-liberal are all words that, while technically having meaning, have become so warped as to become practically meaningless from a political definition. They also imply blanket attitudes for groups that don't even all like each internally, let alone act in uniform

One of the few blessings I've seen through this time, and to be clear it doesn't outweigh the damage, is that I've got to see that things I grew up as a part of me, people and things, genuinely were good. And this is more evidence of that with the ELCA
