Honestly yes I've seen a worrying push around this narrative, especially around mainstream medias, but even if it was exceedingly rare, I'd still think it's worth being mindful of the "us, the Intellectuals above such follies" VS "them, the weak-minded idiots" narrative that I keep on stumbling upon

I particularly feel like writers should know better about things like this. Humans will bond with anything, and the only thing warranting scorn about this urge to bond are those willing to torment and scam people because of this vulnerabilty.

Also I'm not sure clowning on people already emotionally fragile to the point of turning to machines for comfort is going to do them any good reintegrating with their fellow human beings.

Actually I find this all genuinely tragic and my hatred for anyone profiting from people's urge to form genuine connections that is being actively sabotaged at every level by those *exact same fucks* is not getting any quieter
