The first draft is you telling the story to yourself. The subsequent drafts are for you to figure out how you’re going to tell it to everybody else. And the final edit is making every sentence fight for its life.

Sometimes the power lies in knowing when to let somebody else do it and when you need to do it yourself. Because there are things so personal that nobody — nobody — can do it like you.

I wish all young Black people understood that whether you’re an employee, or self employed, reading is tied to wealth! The more you read, the more you learn, the more you learn, the more you earn.
