Man, it feels so unreal these days when you're posting here or sending messages to someone throughout the day, and it's like:
- cute cats
- journalists killed in Gaza
- interesting new developments in ATProto
- funny bird
- USA descending further into dictatorship
- drone attack in Kyiv
- frog meme

I will add that's only part of the problem. The other part is, the more you flood private markets with cash, the less need for corps to seek public financing. So you gut public markets as well.

Dunno. I don't know much about it, but it sounds like a plan to me. You could easily carve out exceptions for news events (a bit like 'fair use' for existing copyright) and frankly street photography has always been a bit creepy. TV crews always need to get waivers, don't they? Or blur faces out?

I have just entered the thousandth person into my GEDCOM family tree of British and European royalty. It started as a way of looking at power networks in medieval England around 1006 (and to explore John of Gaunt), but snowballed horribly. Would anyone pay for such a thing? It's taken a looong time.

Totally this. YouTube is already a well-defined, personalised TV channel for me now and so many of the shows I watch are made by people (I refuse to call them "creators"...👨‍🦳) who are completely independent. Corollary: why the hell does the BBC make podcasts that aren't broadcast radio first?
