I am here to be rude, because this is a rude technology, and it deserves a rude response. Miyazaki said, “I strongly feel that this is an insult to life itself.” Scam Altman said we can surround the solar system with a Dyson Sphere to hold data centers. Miyazaki is right, and Altman is wrong. Miyazaki tells stories that blend the ordinary and the fantastic in ways people find deeply meaningful. Altman tells lies for money. And I’m glad they’re lies. Because the makers of AI aren’t damned by their failures, they’re damned by their goals. They want to build a genie to grant them wishes, and their wish is that nobody ever has to make art again. They want to create a new kind of mind, so they can force it into mindless servitude. Their dream is to invent new forms of life to enslave.

I rarely find myself reading something and wishing it was longer, but this piece by @anthonymoser.com is just that good.

This is where I arrived with it recently. The memory doesn't go deep enough.

AI won’t magically become intelligent by stacking more reasoning models and retrieval systems. It needs grounding, memory, and purpose, and that’s what I can't stop thinking about.

To me, the big problem is that AI isn’t actually designed to remember, integrate, or understand anything. It is only built to produce. That’s the fundamental issue I’m trying to solve.

At the same time, self-correction and federated learning only get us so far if AI isn’t connected to real human interaction. Without that, even the most advanced systems will still degrade into noise over time.

AI shouldn’t be locked into a few centralized models where all data is funneled into black boxes. A decentralized, self-improving system could be huge, where memory is shared across communities but still keeps individual data private.

Wiring up an LLM, some reasoning models, and a bunch of agents isn’t going to change that. AI needs persistent recall, real-world grounding, and human interaction to be useful.

AI is designed to increase output rn. More content, more transactions, more automation. Untethered AI isn’t intelligence, it’s just a flood of disconnected responses. I have watched what happens when AI runs unchecked, and ends up spewing nonsense if there isn’t a human in the process.

To me, AI is wired completely backwards right now. It has no context for what’s happening around you. It has no real understanding of relationships, environments, or lived experiences.
