I enjoyed browsing your website. I also enjoy using up all my garden bounty in a similar way. My latest is apple skin vinegar.

I called this pattern "Adorable Axolotl' and this face-on view is why, as it peers out from the flowers of my orange tree.

Oh no. I'm glad you at least had some good coverage for it. I'm at a loss about gardening this spring. The winter has been so warm as to be unbelievable and I don't know whether to think it will continue on that way or all of a sudden turn cold.

I didn't know about bridge grafting. That was interesting. I don't think it will work in this case because they have chewed all the way down onto the roots. And it's just a young tree - the trunk is only a little over 1" diameter.

This is my Cara Cara orange tree - the first time it's flowered and now I see that the mice got into the greenhouse over winter and have almost totally ring-barked it. They just missed a spot where a stake was too close to the trunk. I have no idea if it will survive. It's very sad... 🌱 #gardening

'Roly Poly Pillbug' is a knitting pattern for a pillbug that rolls up into a ball or opens up to reveal 14 legs. This one is in shades of brown and is rolled up on a flowering jade plant.

'Beneficent Bat' is a knitting pattern for a little brown bat. This one has it's wings spread and appears to be flying out of a clump of asparagus fern.

'Antiquated Armadillo' is a knitting pattern for an armadillo. This one is in a blue metallic shade and is standing on a cane table in front of the large green leaves of a Ficus plant.

Many years ago, when we were much younger, my husband used to run herringbone up steep slopes and then ski back down a few times while I was just trudging on up. I claimed it was like skiing with a dog as he did circles around me. Used to love those days in the mountains.

These photos are from last year. I didn't take one this year and now they're about finished flowering.

Must be outside in the rain? The petals are wet. Mine is flowering inside in my greenhouse. It's in there because usually where I live is too cold outside - but not this winter.

What a beautiful place!

I picked up a little Gollum jade in a 2" pot a few years back, and it is flowering now too. This was from last year.

Some people are not physically able to go out on patrol, but they can stay at home and knit, or post on social media.

Mine has only bloomed for me the last couple of years. It had to get quite big before it started, and it's in a greenhouse because it's too cold (or used to be) outside.

It makes little ridges, which is what I was after, but it's a pain (in the fingers) to knit because it's all done on dpns in the round.

The head needs to be a bit longer, the eyes need a bit of repositioning, the legs need to be a bit bigger, the intercostal grooves should not reach all the way to the dorsal fin, the underside needs a few short rows to fatten it up.

It's the same here in south central Oregon. We've been in the 50s for weeks. Should be in the 30s. Lowest night time temp was 13. Used to be -26.

I started designing an axolotl stuffie back in 2021, shelved it for a few years, then picked it up again last month. Now I have a prototype finished. It still needs a lot of tweaking. For such a simple looking creature it's not a simple pattern! Oh, & my jade plant is flowering. 🌱
