What if aliens don't come to Earth because they don't want to have to smell the oxygen in our atmosphere?

What if this is the real reason babies cry so much. They can smell it, but they get used to it before they can remember to tell anyone...

What if oxygen stinks, but we've just evolved to not be able to smell it. Like how living in a house with a constant smell makes you blind to it...
