Greens’ β€˜undeliverable’ promises will let voters down, says Labour minister Exclusive: Darren Jones says Labour has to convince young people it is β€˜modern party of the future’

There's a great way to convince people that you're a 'modern party of the future' and that's to BE a modern party of the future, the trouble with Labour is that it is so in thrall to big money and chasing the far-right vote it can't genuinely do that.

It can do it, probably better than most lawyers, but not without help. Anyone who got caught probably just prompted poorly and then didn't bother to check the output.

If you use AI like a colleague with an encyclopaedic memory then you will save a lot of time and produce better arguments.

Not defending Trump, but I think you might be suffering with a case of rose-tinted spectacles. Obama summarily killed an awful lot of people with drones, just because he didn't do it to Americans doesn't make it OK.

I agree with every word you've said about Cheney, but it surprises me how few people join the dots: the reason people like Cheney exist is because the SYSTEM is faulty. If it weren't for a bad system, he wouldn't have been able to do what he did.

Want to stop future Cheneys? Change the system.

State official has to explain why polls are closed in Kentucky

After getting calls about polls being closed in Kentucky, Secretary of State Michael Adams just took to X to explain why.

"They are closed because we do not have elections today," Adams writes, external.

"Kentucky votes next year. You cannot vote today in Kentucky for the mayor of New York City or the Governor of Virginia. Sorry."

As a former resident of Kentucky, this from the BBC feels about right

Doubtful, at least I don't live in an imaginary world.

You said something stupid and got called on it, take your lumps and move on

I don't really care whether you do or not. People who call others arrogant are usually embarrassed about having said something stupid.

No, it can't, it still has to be voted on but the CEU, do you think maybe Orban or Meloni might decide to veto our application as a favour to Farage?

They can't "agree to the customs union", the country has to be admitted by the EU member states, some of whom would like nothing more than to give Starmer a bloody nose and ensure Farage gets in, so how do you think that is going to go?

Nige is no longer laughing at himself as he β€˜performs’ yet another big speech | John Crace Reform leader is trying to make it as a mainstream politician – which involves contradicting himself and gaslighting voters

β€œHis main theme was that the country was fucked. Largely because of Brexit. Weirdly, he has no memory of being the main architect behind the Brexit vote. He seems to think it happened in a world in which he played no part.”

Farage - the foghorn of failure.

I'm not "Labour", but even I can see that we can't just "rejoin". For a start we have to ask all 27 member states to let us back in.

If Starmer asked, do you maybe think that someone might not do Farage a favour and veto? Do you think the current Italian government might not like Farage for PM?
