Yep. I saw another video a few months ago in which a grocery store employee was pulling all US whiskey & liquor off the shelves. Apparently, Canada was the biggest importer of U.S. whiskey, by far. Canada is done with the U.S.

It’s like condo conversions in DC. The city has good tenant-protection laws but there’s a loophole for conversions. Developers & lawyers have driven a steamroller through it. The result is a rental housing crisis, particularly affordable units. Housing should be a right & I don’t mean shelters.

Great article. I worked in affordable housing for years in DC. I don’t think the problem is AirBnbs as much as the lack of tenant-oriented laws. In Italy the national govt should identify housing as a human right. Residents first, tourists, way down the list.

Have you seen the guy who calls himself our “emotional support Canadian”? He has showcased the labeling of products with their country of origin in supermarkets there, which wasn’t much of a thing before tariff/annexation-boy went after 🇨🇦.

Lol. I’m not, really. I can watch & understand French & Spanish tv & travel around by myself in countries where they’re spoken dong everyday tasks but I’m not fluent. My husband’s friend said “She makes mistakes, but we understand her.” 😅🤷🏼‍♀️

IKR? That does my head in. Same with Mandarin. A NYer I worked with studied in China for 2 years through NYU. We worked as legal aid attorneys in NYC’s Chinatown & had secretaries who spoke many dialects to help us. He could communicate & read a little, but not enough after 2 years!

I can speak decent French & Spanish because I lived in Guatemala for a year & had to take French from 4th grade forward, plus married a French guy, but a language that has zero similarities to English seems impossible.

I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to learn Japanese.

We used to take our son there to the carousel & went back last year. He still remembers how fun it was to use the stick to grab the rings. The little boats are very different now. It’s a beautiful place.

They also put ledges, steps to them & tubes for them to walk through on the walls to give them something to do. Boredom can cause behavior no one appreciates.

Make sure orange oil isn’t toxic for cats.
I know a couple who used a spray bottle of water to keep their cats from clawing the couch & trained the cats not to do it. They don’t need the spray bottle anymore.
