Though rather hazy/smoky, Friday’s temperatures rose into the upper 20s and low 30s across much of the province.

Onshore breezes kept the NE Avalon a bit cooler, but that will change tomorrow as a west to southwesterly flow becomes established throughout. #nlwx

A measurable reduction in air quality (moderate category) is evident in central Newfoundland, largely attributable to long-range transport of smoke aloft. Subsidence beneath strong high pressure is facilitating its descent toward the surface. 🌫

Hefty rainfall yesterday in parts of #Labrador from a rather intense low by July standards. Associated cold front brought some beneficial rainfall to western #Newfoundland as well.
