His entire career has been outpacing seemingly unreachably lofty expectations.

the brewers are annoying but at least they played well this season. the dodgers played like shit most of the year and are gonna make the NLCS

The series loss happened the moment Counsell pitched Rea in relief vs SD. I merely wanted to point out that the pitching is more of a culprit *to me* than the hitting. Most playoff rosters have enough pitching where 3 is enough to, at worst, force extras.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. The Cubs are fortunate to have a series win with their SP performing like this.

The focus is gonna be on the Cubs’ offense inability to score runs, because it’s a trend (despite the ineptitude spanning over different teams) and not on the fact the offense scored in the 1st and didn’t have a lead going into the 2nd.

The Pitching has let this team down in MIL, not the bats.
