Last week, along with the First Minister, MSPs put politics aside and supported staff at @STVNews in opposing the cuts to STV North Tonight.
Have your say ππ» bit.ly/3LTQlfC
STV North Tonight is getting scrapped, and Ofcom are simply sitting on their hands.
This is what happens when decisions about Scotland are taken in London rather than in Scotland.

Your @theSNP @scotgov 2026/27 Budget will be rolling out breakfast clubs for every primary school child by August 2027.
This gives children the best start to the day, saves parents a bit of money, and allowing them to get on with their busy day during the working week.
Last week, I had the chance to visit the Royal Mail delivery office in Mastrick, and to speak with the hard-working posties delivering to communities across AB15 and AB16.
They're doing a great job while dealing with a huge increase in parcels (and the fire alarm going off π
).
It's Scotland's Energy π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώβ‘οΈ
Scotland is an energy-rich nation. A vast amount of low-cost, renewable energy is produced here.
Yet we pay some of the highest energy bills in Europe.

While NHS staff in England are still disgracefully fined for parking while caring for patients, in Scotland @thesnp @scotgov put an end to this.
This action by @theSNP @scotgov has saved staff and patients over Β£90 million since 2008, by scrapping hospital parking charges.

@snp.org Scottish Government are investing in the Oil and Gas Transition Training Fund, to allow more of our highly skilled work force to take on different roles in the sustainable energy sector.
People are our cityβs biggest asset, and I am glad to see this investment in our workforce.
Please help save STV North!
Local journalism matters, and we risk losing that from our screens if STV go ahead with their proposed cuts.
You can show your support for the future of STV North by signing this petition c.org/Pf8RNPZRB6?s...
Earlier today, I questioned Rufus Radcliffe, CEO at STV, around their plans to cut STV North at the Scottish Parliament's Culture Committee.
300,000 folk tunes into STV North last night, I wouldn't call 300,000 folk nobody.

SYP does an important job, championing the interests of young Scots, and ensuring their voices are heard in this Parliament.
Labour left pensioners in the cold by removing their Winter Fuel Payment.
Your SNP Scottish Government is delivering Pension Age Winter Heating Payments, from November 2025, for every pensioner - 880,000 pensioners across Scotland will receive the payment.

Your SNP Scottish Government has abolished peak rail fares for good.
This means a cheaper daily commute for thousands across Scotland.
Thatβs money back in your pocket, whether youβre travelling for work or leisure, given the reduced cost of rail travel.
This week pupils returned to school for the new term.
To help with what can be an expensive time, your SNP Scottish Government, working with Aberdeen City Council, have expanded free school meals for S1-3 pupils in receipt of the Scottish Child Payment.

Todayβs Tall Shipβs crew parade & awards ceremony brightened up a dreich Aberdeen today.
The weather wasnβt great, but it certainly didnβt dampen spirits.

Yellow background with a quote from John Swinney, First Minister of Scotland. The quote reads: βIn 2014, millions of us shared something powerful. A vision of a better Scotland wasnβt just hoped for β it was already being imagined, created, and lived. That belief hasnβt gone away. In fact, itβs needed now more than ever.β A circular photo of Swinney appears in the bottom right, raising his hand and smiling in a dark suit. Yesterday I visited Alzheimer Scotland at their office on King Street in Aberdeen.
Great to hear about all they offer to folk across the city, in particular, the Brain Health Clinic - a partnership with NHS Grampian and the Scottish Government.
Today, with @fsb-uk.bsky.social, I visited @Appetite_M365, Endurance Kickboxing, CMD Coatings, Flowerscene and H & S Milne & Son Butcher.
It was great to hear about the different work they are doing, what they offer in the community, and hearing about the challenges businesses face.
The UK economy has now shrunk for the second month in a row.
This is entirely under Labour, their choices, their fiscal rules, their cuts, their NI rises, and their inability to bring down energy prices.
Can we afford to remain a part of broken Britain?
βοΈ Under Keir Starmer's two-tier welfare system, disabled Scots will now be nearly Β£3,000 worse off a year with any new claims for Universal Credit.
π₯ 31 Scottish Labour MPs voted for this.
The UK Government's two child cap hit 820 households across Aberdeen, affecting 2,810 kids in our city.
Next March, @snp.org is scrapping the cap, and giving a hand up to more than 100,000 children across Scotland.
Michael Shanks MP, the UK Labour Government's Energy Minister, believes there is no difference between domestic and foreign oil production.
I believe it makes a world of difference to hundreds of thousands of oil and gas workers across the North East of Scotland.
