Columbus never even landed on the soil of what we now call the United States. I live in New Mexico, where we celebrate and honor, 23 beautiful indigenous tribes.

My week in fiber: kitchen towels on the 8 shaft loom, spinning tweed top, Ari sitting on a rigid heddle woven pillow and bookmarks on the inkle. Whew.

It’s Saori time. I put on a 30 meter warp which is 1,181 inches, so I figured I could get 18 scarves out of it. Here’s scarf 1. Cotton warp, Superbaby Alpaca, fine merino, silk, and misc. wool roving for weft.

Should I leave the United States?

Several rows of red weft threads are being woven with green warp threads under tension

I should be packing (move is Friday) I determined that the first time I weave on my new loom shouldn’t be on the first day of a three day workshop in June, so I went to the art studio and unpacked the warping board and threw on a little mini project to test everything out.

Liberal GenX here. I have never voted for a republican in my life, and I was raised by racist conservatives, and was in the military, and I’m queer. I think it’s the one third of eligible voters that didn’t even vote that failed us.

My new Ashford 24” 8 Shaft Table loom arrived today from New Zealand. Assembled her with the help of a friend and YouTube.

Worked on her from 10am to 4pm, then a little more before and after dinner.

But that duck only has two legs!
