Bangor Academy's bid to become integrated turned down
Education Minister Paul Givan decides the plans, supported by the majority of parents, should not proceed.
Hard to understand the rationale for this. 79.4% of parents at Bangor Academy and 82.3% at Rathmore voted for transformation. Many are now feeling disappointed & concerned at this decision. I have contacted both schools and will be raising with the Education Minister.

Image of blue-green algae in Lough Neagh.
Text reads: "Sinn Fรฉin, DUP, SDLP & UUP vote against our plans to increase penalties for polluters."
Itโs shameful that other parties have voted against Allianceโs plan to increase penalties for polluters.
Our proposal wouldโve reversed the DUPโs cap on cross-compliance penalties.
Only Alliance is committed to protecting our environment and Lough Neagh.

If we are serious about tackling violence against women and girls, then we need to raise the bar regarding interactions between Ministers and MLAs.
Aggressive interaction between men in power and female MLAs is part of a continuum of unacceptable behaviour.
It starts with us. #EVAWG
