i've been thinking a lot about the way i drew leif here he's seen the wonders of the world through those eyes

L: Oh god, it has to have been at least 8 years... I remember I first saw Vaughn at a local, kinda crappy bar during a company fling with my boss and some of my coworkers. Had never seen a guy so huge, so I was just a little bit awestruck. He was passed out in what I could only assume was a drunken food coma. Overheard some guys in the kitchen say they had to cut him off right after we got sat down. I didn't want to go trying to talk to him while I was in the company of the folks I worked with, so I started going to the same bar every so often to see if I could catch him again when I was alone. Stomaching the lousy booze thankfully ended up being worth it, since I managed to catch him one evening a couple weeks later. Being a nervous ass barely 21 year old, I spent those weeks building up an internal script for how I was gonna approach the behemoth of a guy, planning out everything from how to get the conversation started to backup plans for worst case scenarios (like him being straight or something) but when the time came for me to use it I uh... fucked it up. Bad. And instantly. Despite that, though, he found it charming and asked what a kid like me would want with "an old goat like him", to which I replied that I just wanted to buy him a drink, to which he accepted, and then we chatted til he had to leave for the night. He had to be up early for a trucking job. Almost forgot to ask him for his number, but before I could I saw him already jotting it down on a napkin. The rest after that's just kinda history. And as for who proposed first, I did!
