Have you ever started a book and knew, within a few sentences, that you were going to love it? That it would match your soul or rip your heart to shreds, and that tiny taste only made you ravenous for more? Made the anticipation for the next paragraph even better?

Ok, I never thought I'd say this, but food really is better with edible glitter on it. It's like a little spritz of joy.

TLDR: I have read wonderful books that probably had less than seven similes in their entire text.

7+ similes per chapter is overkill.

Dear authors: please find other ways to describe things besides similes. Yes, they can be useful, but they are not the ONLY way to do things. Especially if a sentence was perfectly good and descriptive before you tacked on your "like" or "as".

No, I don't understand. I don't know your reasoning to fully understand, and from what I can gather, I think it's a bit ridiculous. It doesn't matter though, because even if I can't understand, I can accept that this is the choice you have made. And I do. And I wish you well.

I made this the other night while procrastinating, mainly because I thought all the posts about the blackout were boring. It feels like there is momentum bringing people together!

Today I was reminded of the computer games Myst, Loom, and 7th Guest, and I am tempted to replay all of them.

I want to keep a small stack of 4x6 postcards in my car that have an image of the ghost knight from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and the caption "You chose...poorly" on it to put on the windshield of any Tesla "truck" I see in a parking lot.
