Actors are like any other artist, who are hired for their interpretation of someone else's vision.

God help the dev who gets in my face about AI VO at holiday parties this year, I'm done being polite.

This isn’t law enforcement doing its job. It’s the escalation of a culture of fear that punishes anyone who dares to document it.

I know, everybody should leave X, but I think an exception should be made solely for Joyce Carol Oates so she can keep wounding Musk's withered soul on his own site and he can't do a thing about it.

Refusing to seat her during the pro forma sessions has been gross and petty and wrong and all that. But refusing to seat her before taking up other business in a regular session would be a much more insanely radical and unconstitutional thing to do, and Johnson has never said he'd try to do that.

There has never been any question about this, it has been Johnson's stated position this whole time, and it's what House rules and precedents unambiguously require. Seating new members takes automatic priority over any other business. They've only been delaying by not doing any business at all.

The Senate passed a bill to reopen the federal government Monday evening, getting just enough votes to move forward with the help of seven Democrats and one independent senator.

The measure will now head to the House. https://wapo.st/43m56gA

I’ve worked on close to 60 grants overall in various capacities, I can’t imagine my working on any in the foreseeable future. There’s literally only one or two places to go.

A couple years ago I worked on 12 grants in my role as a task force director at the Library of Congress. This year, zero. We are going to lose a lot of our public memory. Which is at the crux of fascistic mobilization.

I should really have fit into this post that this county voted for Trump.

Sheldon Whitehouse is a really smart guy. He's genuinely smart β€” there are quite a few senators who do not have anywhere near the sort of legal intellectual firepower this guy has.

Like all politicians, sometimes Sheldon plays dumb. Fine. But scolding us? As if we're the fuckups? 🧡

Right before finding out which way SCOTUS comes down on the question of starving millions of children? That's the worst, stupidest time to cave. It's really weird that Dem Senators are posting pretending like they don't know that.

Sheldon Whitehouse absolutely understood what Jackson, J did. 🧡

She was killed in a hospital in 1998. Now DNA points to a suspect. For decades, the perpetrator remained a mystery. On Monday, law enforcement and county officials announced a break in the case.

A maintenance worker in 1998 found Sheryl Crandell raped and strangled in her Maryland office. For decades, the perpetrator remained a mystery.

Now, officials have announced a break in the case, thanks to genetic genealogy.

Jason Isaacs leaps onto a stunt mat with Oyin Oladejo, Doug Jones, and Rainn Wilson on the Discovery bridge set.

According to Anthony Rapp production of "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad" was "frantic". To relieve some of the pressure, members of the cast including Jason Isaacs, Shazad Latif, Rainn Wilson along with the episode's director David M. Barrett played ping pong in the alley outside the STAR TREK: DISCOVERY soundstages. Wilson Cruz said, "This was an intense episode, and they played a lot."

β€œBut you can bounce lasers off of mirrors the Apollo astronauts put on the moon yourself!”

I mean; ok, pretty good, but have you tried, β€œYeah, the government /did/ lie about the moon landings…for example, every time an Apollo astronaut said β€˜sunofabitch’ the official transcripts read β€˜garbled’.”

"See, we came together and compromised" is a good talking point when the gettable swing voter has a vaguely positive sense of both parties or how the system is supposed to work. Not when the 50th percentile marginal vote is like "I hate both of them so much" and your offer is "cool, I'm like both!"

Every single Dem that caved and agreed to this deal needs to be primaried and voted out. They are cowards who wasted the last month for a half baked promise vote a month from now.
