LIFT THE BLOCKADE The US is waging a war of extermination against the Cuban people. Sanctions as a mode of warfare are slower and quieter but no less cruel than bombs: they explicitly target civilians and disproportionately harm the most vulnerable. (Pink text on dark purple background, with an DSA Emerge's logo of a sledgehammer and apple blossoms in a communist motif, and an image of a shipping boat.) END THE WAR ON CUBA
The recent intensification of the blockade, including through illegal intervention in Venezuela which forced the state to end its crucial oil shipments, has led to an acute crisis throughout Cuban society. People are without electricity, transportation, and food. Hospitals canโt treat their patients. Children canโt go to school. (Pink text on dark purple background, with an image of a diverse set of Cuban people protesting, one holding a sign that says "NO AL BLOQUEO," others holding flags and banners.)
Would-be colonizers like Marco Rubio have a single goal: to destroy the only socialist state in the Western hemisphere. Like the American war on Vietnam and the Israeli war on Gaza, they are ready to destroy countless lives in a vain attempt to salvage a dying hegemony. (Pink text on dark purple background, with an image of a U.S. airforce plane dropping missiles, and a picture of Marco Rubio speaking.)
But the spirit of July 26 lives on in the people of Cuba and in all revolutionaries. Despite decades under siege, Cuba has endured as a beacon of hope for a better world under communism. (Pink text on dark purple background, with a photo from the Cuban Revolution, featuring people of all races and genders, some armed and some not, gathered around a military vehicle, with Fidel Castro waving.)
The US is waging a war of extermination against the Cuban people, like we did in Vietnam and like we are doing with our Israeli allies in Gaza.
Socialists around the world, but especially in the US, must organize to lift the blockade and end the war on Cuba.
