Finished Sword Of Kaigen. My last book for May. It was a bumpy ride for me. The middle of this book was phenomenal by either side of it felt like different books. I’d love to read more of this world though. This very much felt like an appetiser.

Finished Memories Of Ice by Steven Erickson today. I had to seek out chapter summaries but I was glad I did. Really opened the world/story for me. Also the first book I’ve completed while reading/listening. There’s no going back on immersion reading for me now.

Woah, I didn’t notice the glossary 😂 I don’t think I can keep flipping back to it though, the binding on my copy is terrible. So many loose pages already.

It really does. I’ve started listening/reading at the same time and it really helped me stay in book with this one. There were definitely points where I would have normally DNF’d it 😅

I’m reading Sword Of Kaigen and I just had an amazing hour with the first battle scene. It was a real slow start but the two chapters I’ve just read really blew me away. So much fun!

Sometimes I like to muse on how in the UK we instinctively understand the nuanced differences between, for example, a prat, a prick, a twat, a cunt etc. You could plot them on a graph. What would the axes be? Harmfulness? Mildness/Severity? Warmth/cold?

I’m starting Memories Of Ice by Steven Erickson this morning. Cracking up that the prologue starts a mere 298,665 years in the past 😂

Finished Fool’s Fate by Robin Hobb early this afternoon and I’ve been in a daze ever since. An unforgettable experience.
