Think again! Spelling variations were super common, names were often written how they sounded.

Your “Taylor” ancestor might’ve been a “Tailor” or “Tayler”, in the records.

Are any of my Aussie genie friends due to make a trip to the UK in the near future? I really, really, really want a book that I can't get here, but the postage from Aus is expensive (on EBay).

The Yorkshire School for the Blind was founded in 1833 in memory of William Wilberforce, the abolitionist and Yorkshire MP and two years later moved to King's Manor, York which was originally the Abbot of St Mary's house, and later seat of the Council of the North.
