Hello, I reviewed ROOSTER for @ebertvoices.bsky.social as part of women writers week, an opportunity that enabled me to ask the question: Did Steve Carell really have to fall on that young woman's boobs?

A black and white photo of her.
Four covers colored by Wood, including Batman vs the Incredible Hulk, Superman vs Wonder Woman, Adventure Comics featuring the Spectre, and Detective Comics featuring Batman and Manhunter.
Tatjana Wood was a very prolific colorist, who contributed to several of DC Comics' best runs of all time, & colored an amazing amount of their covers from the 1970s to 1990s. She was also an artist who assisted Wally Wood during their marriage.

THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!

Godspeed, James Van Der Beek. Grateful for your spirit, humor, and grace.
Weβre going to destroy this fucking disease one day. I know it. Letβs make it happen.
James Van Der Beek was part of one of the most influential shows of a certain era, a show that loomed large to a certain generation of critics. Beyond that, he was talented, willing to poke fun at himself & seemed like a good man. Extremely sad news. Way, way too young. π people.com/james-van-de...

30.01.2026 19:10 β π 445 π 95 π¬ 27 π 69Statement from Michael and Susan Pretti Parents of Alex Jeffrey Pretti βWe are heartbroken but also very angry. Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately, he will not be with us to see his impact. I do not throw around the βheroβ term lightly. However, his last thought and act was to protect a woman. The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trumpβs murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed. Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you.
Kare 11 local news just read, in full, this statement from Michael and Susan Pretti, the parents of Alex Pretti.

14.01.2026 17:56 β π 136 π 112 π¬ 0 π 2There is a grave moral consequence to letting this go on. Shut down the government, have a general strike, grind the country to a halt, hit the streets. But not treating a demented administration lying about its thugs committing cold-blooded murder as an emergency? That is an emergency in itself.

My βStranger Thingsβ finale theory, explained in two eighties songs by a band whose name was kinda-sorta constantly invoked by Dustinβs sacrilegious swearing. Vecnaβs head? It should be on the ground. But itβs not. Itβs still on. And weβre all trapped inside it. (Yes, Iβm kinda obsessed.)
07.01.2026 19:56 β π 75 π 3 π¬ 2 π 0So if all these βStranger Thingsβ rumors are true, then once Eleven frees Mike and whoever else from Vecnaβs black lodge, maybe she can head over to Twin Peaks and liberate Agent Cooper. It is 1989, after all.
