go read WINGLESS on RoyalRoad, mirrors on AO3 and maybe other places soon

a person seen from the back with messy red hair, horns and "WINGLESS" tattooed across the shoulders on a light purple background. The back tattoo is partially covered up.
instead of sleeping I spent the last 4 hours making a cover for my fic "Wingless" :)

I've noticed people there sometimes act like it's impossible to make something passable naturally.
I just grabbed a bunch of transparent silhouette PNGs from a stock image site, photoedited them into any graphic artist's nightmare, and made that into a cover. Thrice. I've yet to get any complaints.

26.11.2024 03:09 — 👍 13 🔁 3 💬 3 📌 0The inexorable sea waits for no one! Let alone the plot. And as such, a new chapter has surfaced!

No thanks to the oh-so-funny youth who keeps giving the sea various facsimiles of fish made from inedible materials, we're 1.7k words away from reaching the Writathon word count ahead of schedule! The sea will be on its best behavior until this goal is met to accommodate the additional writing time.

A new chapter has washed up! As always, be mindful of the waves, though. 🌊🌊🌊

Whichever one of you gave the sea that ceramic fish as an offering, it wasn't funny. Fine, it was, but one of our sibyls broke their teeth trying to bite into it, and you know how much mana it'd cost to regrow those. Don't do it again. Keep your ceramic fish to yourself.
24.11.2024 23:17 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0As a part of self promo, I made a post on Reddit to see if I can get more people reading my fiction. Will it work? Who knows.
23.11.2024 17:17 — 👍 1 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Four-panel image, all with a light blue background. On the first, a hand is seen poking out from the waves above. "Help! The sea is taking me!". On the second panel, that hand is on the upper left corner, and we see the silhouette of a girl with a lifesaver. "Hey. Got any Affinities I could copy if I save you?" asks the girl. On the third panel, the hand replies "No?", and on the final panel, the girl is seen walking away with the lifesaver. The hand shouts: "Where are you going?! Wait!" as she leaves and it remains in the waves.

23.11.2024 04:00 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0I'd yet to link my fiction from Royal Road here, how woeful! It's a LitRPG 'comedy' with an MC who's in it for the long run, for better or worse. Volume 1 is complete!
Don't tell anyone over there, but I prefer to think the sea is secretly the main character.

Olá/Hi! I'm Malus, (not) famous writer and not sure what I'm doing with my life! This profile is, other than just chilling around here, to promote my original work: Isher Notra.
It's about a tween girl venturing through a forest of dangerous, hideous (or not) creatures, called the Monoke.
An unfortunate soul did what they should not, and you know how it goes, but they'd been carrying a welcome basket. We know not who it was intended for, but We shall gently set it afloat. Perhaps the hivemind might appreciate it, should it be encountered.
22.11.2024 04:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0We have been informed the latest warning We sent out about steering clear of the shoreline for the month of The Rain was not heeded properly, and several cultivators suffered the consequences. This had led to an influx of complaints received by Our sibyls, but understand, caution is up to YOU.
22.11.2024 04:25 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0That's it, I'm doing it. If you encounter the seaposts without context, I'm sorry, but this was meant to be.
22.11.2024 04:25 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0If I start typing in-character as my fiction's sapient sea, would people grow concerned? Because, let me tell you, the urge is incredibly strong.
22.11.2024 04:09 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yet another RR serial I like: Eldritch Guidance by Saberfang. It does use the playwright style for dialogue, which can take some getting used to, but its horror vibes are immaculate. It's a great take on the 'unaware protagonist dispenses eldritch horrors' shtick and all characters are interesting.
22.11.2024 01:12 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Another RR fiction I love is God Within Us by BigThink. It really gets that grimdark vibe going and the main characters' plotlines are just a marvel to go through, even when you find yourself questioning their actions. It's this marvelous blend of horror and fantasy that just works.
22.11.2024 01:09 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Next up on RR/KU books I like: The Faerie Knight by David Niemitz. The worldbuilding and ambience in that universe are some of the best I've seen and it really draws you in. Characters also have such a depth to them that you can't help but want to know more about who they are and how things will go.
22.11.2024 01:07 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I'll be listing some books and serial fictions I like and follow from the RR/KU pipeline, starting with Phantasm by maxlex. It's that rare case of a LitRPG MC that uses social skills with abandon and it shapes out really nicely. The suspense and progression are also superb.
22.11.2024 01:05 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Hello, writers of Immersive Ink and random internet people. I am the author of The Weight of Legacy, an ongoing LitRPG serial fiction on Royal Road. My hobbies include watching the numbers go up, drawing poor impressions of medieval art, and craving the attention of the local cats.
22.11.2024 01:00 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0An image in various shades of blue and black depicting a girl staring up at a hand that reaches for her while its owner is taken by the waves. They are both only silhouettes. The waves are sideways on the right side of the image while the girl is to the lower left. On the top left, red-orange text reads "Have your loved ones been taken by the sea?" while the lower right side is captioned: "Call our support group now!"
