I’m all about ease when traveling and don’t mind spending a little more from time to time to ensure that. I try to save and budget for my travel so it’s not expenses I didn’t plan for.

I stay at Hilton for hotels because once you get diamond status, you can status match to national, Avis and hertz for good deals and easy rentals. Also, their hotels are generally nice and have free breakfast!

If you have a Platinum Amex, it gives you lounge access as well as priority pass. It also grants you gold level status at hotels and rental cars. If you fly delta this card helps rack up points for it, but Amex requires the balance paid in full every month. Delta offers an airline card for miles.

Pre-check is worth every penny, especially at more congested airports. I fly American since it is helpful to have status with an airline if you have issues. It might not be the cheapest every time, but overall you’ll come out ahead. I use their Citi Advantage card to rack up miles.
