Trump:

On it!
Scott Adams O @ScottAdamsSays
On Monday, I will ask President Trump, via X, to help save my life. He offered to help me if I needed it.
I need it.
As many of you know, I have metastasized prostate cancer.
My healthcare provider, Kaiser of Northern California, has approved my application to receive a newly FDA-approved drug called Pluvicto. But they have dropped the ball in scheduling the brief IV to administer it and I can't seem to fix that.
I am declining fast. I will ask President Trump if he can get Kaiser of Northern California to respond and schedule it for Monday. That will give me a fighting chance to stick around on this planet a little bit longer.
It is not a cure, but it does give good results to manv people.

Trump posts that heโ€™s going to help Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams, who made an appeal to the president on Twitter because his insurer has been too slow to schedule a drug treatment for his cancer.

The implicit assumption that white rural voters are the *real* voice of the masses, while the people who live around the major population centers (ie the majority of the country) are out of touch degenerates remains an unshakable feature of punditry. Truly nasty work

I found this piece sad too, but mostly because it is part of a years-long effort by progressives to understand what "really" animates Trump voters.

We already know! It is racism, misogyny and misinformation. I know that sounds condescending or whatever but it's simply what all evidence suggests.

"Democrats should post on a social media site run by a Nazi billionaire who explicitly rigged the algorithm to promote Nazi content" is a take you are legally allowed to have, but it's about as leftist as Milton Friedman.

When the FBI arrested Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups, the basketball-watching public turned to sports media to help make sense of the story. What explanations were on offer?

Before disclosing its own BetMGM partnership, The Athletic called โ€œall of sportsโ€ complicit in the scandal. Bill Simmons dismissed the episode as โ€a couple bad apples,โ€ growing pains typical of a growth industry. Zach Lowe had ESPN's betting guy on his podcast; together they concluded that these issues can be tinkered out of existence by limiting prop bets and changing how teams report injuries. Lowe's podcast, like Simmons's, began with a FanDuel ad.

The takeover of sports media by gambling companies imposes hard boundaries on the domain of these conversations. Most importantly, these captured discussions always obscure the social and political choices that enable the gambling industry to entrench itself.

Allowing people to gamble on their phones and allowing sports gambling companies to spend untold sums on lobbying and advertising are choices. These choices, not some law of nature, are why millions of people have started gambling in recent years. Likewise, other sports media companies have chosen to offer up their audiences as prey to gambling outfits.

Defector has chosen something else: We never have and never will take money from gambling companies. Subscribers fund our operations, which allows us to remain independent, critical, and uncompromised. Consider making that choice.

We already knew this a year ago, about all the economic things, too. It is the central problem of ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ politics, for which absolutely none of the pundits or consultants has an answer. So they blame Democrats & invent a party & candidates that never existed: bsky.app/profile/mcop...

How would you describe that worldview?
My father told me something when I was very small to instill confidence in me: โ€œNobody in the world is worth more than you, but nobodyโ€™s worth less.โ€ It is an egalitarian view that Iโ€™ve carried around in my life. Thatโ€™s why I am for free schools, free universities, free health care, and free babysitting. Because our society could afford it. In America, people think social democracy is some kind of communism. They think capitalism is freedom. Itโ€™s not. Itโ€™s only freedom to exploit people.

11-year-old was watching the movie Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and it's amazing how well the old practical effects show up. Really seems like effects artists had it down by the 80s, just as CGI ate their lunch.
