Worth a shot!

You could always be like that guy who makes songs out of his kid’s little stories.

They were about a creatively named girl named Anna and her fat yellow dog Banana. There were six total. There were a Christmas episode, a beach episode, and a Very Special Episode when Banana lost his legs. He found them again,

I have been writing since three years old. That was when my family got our first computer, which I remember.

Technically I dictated those stories since typing wasn’t quite in my wheelhouse yet, but Homer dictated the Odyssey, so.

(These definitely weren’t that.)

Some people reach into newly in season coat pockets and find Kleenex and receipts. I reach into my coat pockets and find old N95s and small polyhedral dice.

One climbed telephone poles and the other did skyscraper construction. You know, like that photo.

I am scared shitless of heights.

Once again I am vindicated in my belief that as a programmer you should not be allowed to work on a computer made after the year 2000, on threat of the explosive collar going off, until you have gotten 10 years of experience. Then you can use a computer made in 2010.

Every whinge is another stitch in the very real β€œfuck AI” piece I’m working on.

Oh, and if you’re going to cry accessibility, you better actually be disabled, or you can kiss my dented, oft-plagiarized ass.

Everyone’s always sure their use of AI is righteous, responsible, justified but other people’s are wasteful.

Unless you are in a very small, highly trained subset of people, it’s every bit as damaging as others’.

Save yourself the time and don’t protest to me with your whatabouts.

THIS

Every technology comes with its costs and benefits

A good technology clearly offers benefits that outweigh its costs

AI does not

(And frankly, it hasn’t really been, given even its cancer-identifying status has been vastly exaggerated.)

FFS, it’s killing people, driving them from their homes, adding to the enormous debt we owe nature, and literally driving people insane. Unless it’s lifesaving, I don’t want to hear it.

04.03.2026 19:59 β€” πŸ‘ 62    πŸ” 16    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 1

If more people spoke out, acted out, we wouldn’t be here. And now you want me to be nice to people who want to use tools that as they are are frankly evil?

04.03.2026 19:56 β€” πŸ‘ 25    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Maybe in a different world we could have developed safer ways to do all this.

But they were permitted to go about it this way, and that’s how they plan to carry on.

04.03.2026 19:54 β€” πŸ‘ 31    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It’s not that there are zero use cases for AI.

It’s that there are very, very few that justify the enormous expenditure of resources and rapacious exploitation of labor.

So, one of many things you don't seem aware of is that in research, it's not just gathering what you were looking for, it's running into what you weren't looking for. Falling down rabbit holea is an absolutely critical part of the process. This won't do that because YOU have to make connections.

β€œOur audience has strong feelings about AI”

Yeah. We don’t want it.

Once again subjected to another talk about β€œresponsible” AI use. Once again spoke up about the ethical issues. Once again hit with β€œthose are serious questions that we have to think about!”

Okay, maybe think about them before hitting the gas pedal on implementation?

A handmade pottery mug made from white speckled clay that reads FUCK AROUND AND FIND OUT. The mug is glazed blood red on the handle, rim, and interior and there are red drips down the sides.

β€œAre swear words okay?” is the most common question I get about custom message mugs. No need to explain. You can absolutely send your Nana a mug with the c-word on it.

My rules are simple: no slurs, no threats, and nothing that will get the secret service called on me. Otherwise go wild! 🩸 #pottery

Ugh this cabbie is listening to right wing talk radio propaganda. The way they talk about casualties is disgusting.

me: why didn’t Ariel just write a note to the Prince after she lost her voice to let him know what Ursula did to her? i mean she signed the contract so we know she can write

pharmacist: i meant questions about the medication

It's remarkable that the national media is saying the takeaway from Talarico's win over Crockett is "Democrats are too far left" when the two of them are so ideologically similar.

It's almost as though "too far left" means "too Black."

Train full of people who refused to budge so I could get on. The train guy was like β€œah, well, you can get the next one.”

Can I? Why do you assume I can be late to where I am going, but the bipeds can’t?

Again: Not hyperbole, misinterpretation, or a joke that Christian Dominionism is a strain of apocalyptic accelerationism which VERY LITERALLY SEEKS to hasten their vision of the Biblical end of the world, & the people who believe this have VERY CAREFULLY worked their way into the halls of U.S. power
