Anyone “well actually-ing” me about this will have my metaphorical foot up their ass as their very own preexisting condition.

Disabled people are an object of ridicule, and those who die must necessarily have “preexisting conditions”. They are blamed for their own deaths.

And the poverty disabled folks are forced into and the poverty of the workers well to do people flippantly put at risk? Also our fault.

Oh, and it’s not just conservatives. See all the leftists making “[thing] is ableist” jokes and liberals lecturing me about how the “COVID emergency” is over.

One might be forgiven for thinking they’re celebrating.

* parasocial friendships with other people's pets

A lot of things ARE eugenics these days, and if you’re not seeing it, maybe you’re not looking at the whole picture.

When people told us the COVID response wasn’t eugenics, they weren’t taking into account the effect of shutting disabled people out of society. That is in fact eugenics.

When a major presidential candidate goes on about inferior genetics, to you that’s an insult, but to others, that’s a threat.

Counterpoint: while the language of the ad is pretty damn clear (surprise! it’s eugenics), it’s also occurring alongside the broader normalization of white nationalist and eugenics-adjacent beliefs (consider the popularization of phrases like high/low-iq individual and the return of the r word).

honestly the weirdest thing about having a lot of followers is that you'll have to be constantly on alert about the fact that you've stumbled across some stranger's kink just by doing or saying some mundane thing and they are NOT afraid to dig in because they see you as so popular they're owed it

This is VERY true. I had a guy in workshops in college who was like “you need to do this” and I had to restrain myself from lunging across the table.
