MEANWHILE my OVER 10 YEAR old headphones still work PERFECTLY. replaced the pads 3 times as they are the parts you'd expect to show wear, the cable once due to me rolling my chair over it a bunch of times, but the amount of sweat & times i've dropped them onto the desk is countless

my rode nt-usb has died after ~3 years of use. for something that i basically never touched except to swivel the (incredibly creaky) arm, that's a fucking piss take. it was starting to fall apart anyway; the mount stayed loose despite re-tightening, the cable being sensitive to the slightest touch 🤡
