Dawn

After the storm, the forest fell quiet.
Ari, Pim, and Lumi slept curled together,
the warm book resting beside them.

With the first light of dawn,
everything felt possible again.

The storm roared outside,
but the book lifted a dome of light.

Ari, Pim, and Lumi huddled beneath it,
while the forest whispered
that they were still safe.

Charm

Around the book, something began to glow…
Pim held a mote of light as large as a seed,
and in its glow, the three of them felt something new starting to grow.
Could it be a charm?
Or the first whisper of a story yet to be told?

The rain fell without warning, dimming the forest
and sending the motes of light drifting down fast.

Ari and Pim ran between the trunks,
raising nut-shell caps to catch each glimmer
before the water could wash it away.

Rain

Echo

Ari and the others meet again in a hollow tree,
motes of light follow a path through it.

Curiosity springs out of Ari’s ears,
an echo ripples through them

What can it be?

The forest roof was so close tonight,
all the treetops cuddled together.

Maybe that’s why Ari noticed the strand of glowing motes slipping between them,
floating off like a shy little tale.

He didn’t know where it led.
But he knew he had to go.
