Been reading through "Masters of Doom" as of late, which has inspired me to try out Quake, for what I think might be the first time ever.

And I gotta say that the frenetic pace of the game -even compared to many modern boomer shooters- makes it still very addictive to play.

I don't know why I've been drawn to these types of melee fps and fantasy hybrid types of games (Avowed & Witchaven are 2 other games I've played recently), but this is definitely scratching that itch...

Making my own "capsule art" for the game is something I've wanted to do for a long time, but never been able to during the game's development because I've always been busy with more "important" work.
So to now finally have it done, it feels like a huge weight off my back.

Been dipping my toes into several different games as of late.

I think I'm finally gonna have to put #avowed to the side for the time being. As I feel like it takes more and more willpower for me to start it up each time.
Despite there being elements of the game I really like, I feel like I haven't found any big hook to get me through the whole experience.

My thoughts on #Avowed so far, is that the art direction is amazing, some of the best I've seen in any game.
But the rest of the game. The combat, the story and the side quest. Feels all a bit underwhelming if I'm honest, but I'm hoping the main plot will pick up it's paces once i get further in.

I can't think of another game where I've been so awed by the art direction of it. I feel like it's gonna take me an eternity to get through the game, because every time I play it, I just want to take my time and savour every little piece of the scenery.

My favourite aspect of the game so far is how well crafted the whole world feels. I feel like I can stop, look in any direction, take a screenshot, and that screenshot will be worthy of a painting.

Haven't had as much time as I would like to play games this last year since I started working on Rogue Conflict full time. But when Avowed was released and it being one of those games I've been dying to play for so long, I couldn't resist buying it. #avowed
