It was wonderful to be with folks today at Communiversity. We'll be back at it next Saturday. Join in if interested.

Young Black twins (boy and girl) stand back to back in the middle of a marsh of blue, yellow and green mist lined with trees and reeds. She is holding a book, and her doll is peeking out of the pocket of her blue dress. He is wearing dark blue overalls and holding a bottle of magic potion and had a mojo bag around his neck. Text reads: "A must-read, sure to leave readers wishing for more after the final page." -Booklist (starred review) Root Magic A Walter Award Honor Book Eden Royce "Black Girl Magic has never been more powerful" - Ronald L. My debut novel ROOT MAGIC is a great intro for both kids & adults to Hoodoo and Gullah Geechee culture, full of historical events, folklore, & rootwork.

All charges brought against protesters at Broadview today must be dropped. When cops and agents attack crowds without provocation, they make shit up to justify their attacks (in his case, an attack waged on a cooperative crowd to produce fascist social media content). These charges must be dropped.

PA House website screenshot showing session days for July, August and September and October. Three nonvoting days and five session days in July, two nonvoting and two session days in August, and five nonvoting and two session days in September, with October first (today) included
And for example’s sake, the House isn’t much better: 10 days since July 1, 12 days planned until the end of the year.
22 days of legislating????? For half a year? Collecting your salary while people go unhoused and hungry??
I really hate the PA legislature…
And if we’re lucky, the 16 days planned for the next 3 months may actually mean the Senate passes a budget!
01.10.2025 12:19 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0You’d hope that people paid over 80k a year for full time work to legislate might actually work toward… funding the state after missing a deadline three months ago?
Instead the Senate spends only 6 days in Harrisburg in that time? And they’ve made over $20k of their salary for those 6 days of work?
On November 4th, turn over your PA ballot and vote YES to retain all the statewide judges! They were all elected as Democrats, and have been protecting our rights to vote, access to healthcare, unions, clean air & water, to exist as an LGBTQ person, and more.

Physical mail is an important, highly personal connection to people on the outside. Nobody should have to interact with their child's crayon drawing or a funeral photo of an elder through a tablet.

Being undocumented in the United States is a civil infraction. If someone is undocumented, without having committed any other crimes, they’re not a criminal.
